Today I am thrilled to welcome Alyssa Freitas to Sunny Days and Lovely Ways as our next interviewee featured in Inspiration Interviews!
Alyssa is a blogger and student majoring in Management and minoring in Professional Selling and Law, Politics, and Philosophy. I first stumbled upon Alyssa’s blog through my connection with the Her Campus Blogger Network (HCBN) when she commented on a post in our Facebook group, and from the minute I clicked through to her blog I knew we had many a quality in common. For starters, she values good manners and her education and organisation. Those are three things which are always listed at the very top of my priority list, I’m sure that’s all too obvious from my recent creation of Everyday Elegance.
I was able to connect with Alyssa and ask her a few questions to get to know her a bit better and I am delighted to feature her here today! Continue reading to see what we got talking about!
Just to start us off, would you mind telling us a little bit about yourself?
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for having me. I’m a college student going into my junior year and absolutely loving every second of my education at The College of New Jersey. I study Management and minor in Professional Selling and Law. Not surprisingly, I’m not exactly sure what I want for my future but what I do know is that I love to be challenged, interact with others, and be a part of a solution. Right now I’m focused on my involvement in clubs, sales competitions, and my job as a Community Advisor (generally called an RA at other schools).
What most inspired you to start a blog, and where do you find inspiration for your blog posts?
I was inspired to start blogging after reading awesome blogs for a few years. I created a blog but didn’t truly work on it regularly until approximately a year ago. Coming up with post ideas can be a challenge, but I like to create posts that I would enjoy reading. It seems like a simple thing, however if you would be excited to read a post chances are your readers will too! Whatever I find myself talking with my friends about is what I decide to address on my blog.
What are some of your favourite things to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I LOVE to read. There is absolutely nothing better than reading in my mind so whenever I have a spare moment that is what I do. On line, before class starts, really whenever, you’ll find me with my nose stuck in a book.
Who are some of your role models, or people who you look up to?
I look up to Ivanka Trump because she has created her own brand and appropriately differentiated herself from her family. Her elegance, poise, intelligence, and kindness all shine through her work which is what I strive to attain as well. She is dedicated to her family while still a killer career woman and if I could be anything like her I would be ecstatic!
What elements of etiquette do you find to be most important? (or the ones most people have forgotten, which they probably shouldn’t have?)
The most important thing about etiquette to remember is that its purpose is to put others at ease. In no way, shape or form, is etiquette meant to serve as a way to make others feel bad for not knowing certain rules or to exclude people. As long as you act in a way that you are proud of and how you would wish to be treated you are achieving etiquette goals…however knowing what fork to use is a plus 😉
And finally, what are some of your best organisation tips?
My best organization tip is to find what method works for you. I could go on and on about why filling is better than pilling, but when it really comes down to it you have to customize your own process. Finding inspiration from what others do is great, but see how can make adjustments to create the best organization for your life
Alyssa, it has been such a treat to feature you on SDLW today! You have such a unique and refreshing perspective on life, and it has been so lovely to get to share that with my readers! I thank you so, so much for taking the time out to connect with me (and us)!
